Our work

Built, launched, and still running.

Three projects that show what we do: a published Android app, a complete business running on WhatsApp, and language work that supports both.

Learn Gungbe

Gungbe is spoken across Badagry and southern Benin, and almost none of it exists online in a form a learner can use. Families raising children away from Badagry have very little to work with, and neither do adults who understand the language but never learned to read it.

We built and published an Android teaching app: structured lessons that move from greetings through numbers, market vocabulary and family terms, each with audio recorded by native speakers. It is designed to be small enough to install on a crowded phone and usable without a constant connection.

  • Lesson structure written with native speakers, not machine-translated.
  • Native-speaker audio for every entry, so pronunciation is learned correctly.
  • Offline use after first download, for low-data and no-signal conditions.
  • Published and maintained by Guwit on Google Play.

Owa Delivery Services ordering system

Owa needed to take delivery orders across Badagry — food, cooking gas, pharmacy items, groceries and parcels — from customers who would not install an app for it. We built the whole business as a guided WhatsApp conversation.

The customer picks a service, an area, a vendor and their items by tapping through menus. The system checks availability with the vendor, prices the order line by line, issues an order number, verifies the transfer, and assigns a rider working in that zone.

  • Menu-driven ordering across five service types, with a running cart.
  • Vendor confirmation before the customer is asked to pay.
  • Itemised pricing: items, packaging, service charge and a per-zone delivery fee.
  • Order numbers, transfer verification and status updates at every handover.
  • Zone-based rider assignment, with the vendor's own rider offered the job first.
  • Optional location pin sharing, and ratings after delivery.

GungbeNigerian PidginLocalisation

Language work for low-resource languages

Building the Gungbe app meant doing the underlying language work first: agreeing spellings, organising vocabulary into something teachable, and recording it properly. That work is now a service in its own right.

We take on translation, transcription, glossary building and interface localisation for organisations that need to reach speakers of Gungbe, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba — and we prepare language data for researchers and teams working on speech and translation systems where these languages are badly represented.

  • Translation reviewed by native speakers, not machine output cleaned up afterwards.
  • Consistent terminology, held in a glossary that stays with your project.
  • Audio recorded to a usable standard, with matching transcripts.
  • Localisation that reads naturally to a speaker, not word-for-word substitution.
